 My Little Soldier
My Little Soldier follows five children aged four to six trying to complete "missions" set for them by their parents.

The pilot, which is being filmed on Sunday 3rd August at the ITV London Studios on the South Bank, will feature a young girl getting a taxi to the supermarket to do the weekly shop, a young boy running a studio trying to photograph cute puppies and a batch of youngsters left in charge of an ice-cream van.

Hidden cameras capture the ensuing mayhem before the kids are surprised by their parents and Bradley Walsh.

My Little Soldier is due to be televised at the Saturday teatime slot on ITV1.

 Safe hands in the Algarve
Former England goalkeeper David Seaman will be hosting his seventh Safe Hands Charity Golf Classic at Parque da Floresta resort near Lagos between July 10 and 13.

Bradley Walsh together with other personalities from the world of sport and entertainment will be coming together to play golf and raise money for the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.

The programme includes a two-day golf competition with 22 teams of three players plus one celebrity competing on the Par 71 course at Parque da Floresta.

After the golf there will be plenty of entertainment for those participating with themed evenings on Thursday and Friday. Prizes will be presented on Saturday evening to the winners of the golf competition and after the gala dinner there will be a charity auction.

Each year David Seaman chooses a new charity to support and last year the Safe Hands golf tournament raised over 150, 000 pounds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. In the last six years more than 750,000 pounds has been raised for various charities.

This year numerous celebrites will be coming to the Algarve to support the Safe Hands charity fund. Retired footballers including David Platt and 1966 World Cup winner Martin Peters, Bradley's fellow Coronation Street actor Johnny Briggs, TV presenters Kirsty Gallacher and Ben Shephard, singer Gareth Gates and former international rugby player Kyran Braken will all be present at the event.

The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK raises money in the UK for research into bowel cancer and public awareness of the disease.

David’s own family have been affected by this form of cancer and David said: “We have supported this charity on two previous occasions. This is not only because I have the greatest respect for Bobby Moore but also because my wife Debbie lost her mum to bowel cancer, the same disease from which Bobby tragically died.”

 Music To Our Ears

Eight celebrities, including our very own Bradley Walsh, will compete to enter the conductor's podium at the Proms in a new BBC series.

The show will train the celebrities in orchestral, choral and operatic music and the winner will conduct the BBC Concert Orchestra at the BBC Proms in the Park.

Musician Goldie, former Blur bassist Alex James, newsreader Katie Derham, actress Jane Asher, broadcaster Peter Snow and comedian Sue Perkins are taking part in Maestro, on BBC2, alongside ex-Starsky and Hutch star David Soul and former Coronation Street actor Walsh.

They will enter a week-long Baton Camp and be assigned their own professional conductor to act as a mentor and help them rehearse during the summer.

The celebrities will conduct the BBC Concert Orchestra in weekly BBC2 shows, presented by Clive Anderson, in front of a studio audience and a panel of leading musicians.

The judging panel, consisting of Sir Roger Norrington, who is conducting the Last Night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, composer and cellist Zoe Martlew, conductor Simone Young and double bassist Dominic Seldis, will decide, with members of the orchestra, who gets voted off.

The winning celebrity will conduct in front of a live audience of 30,000 people in Hyde Park on September 13, as part of the BBC Proms' world-famous Last Night celebrations.

All those taking part are described as "amateurs with a passion for classical music".

Peter Maniura, head of BBC classical music television, said: "Maestro will take the audience on a fascinating, surprising, thrilling and informative journey into the heart of music-making.

"It will delve into the practicalities, magic and mystery of what a conductor actually does to make great music happen."

Maestro starts on BBC Two in August
